Running under different names, the partners of the consortium have been carrying out research and development in the field of information technologies applied to the medical sciences since 1996.
The MIC currently joins three partners, putting together the experience of an academic research group, the support of a technology center, and the potential exploitation of results of a company in the medical field. Each particular project also joints strategic partners from the Spanish health system. MIC’s partners are:
Grupo de Estudios en Biomimética (Universidad de Málaga)
Fundación CITIC (www.citic.es)
The technologies developed and applied by the MIC are (like medicine itself) multidisciplinary: knowledge discovery, decision systems, computational intelligence, computer vision, wireless communications, and any know-how or hardware involved in the e-health emerging field.
The consortium is funded by private initiative and public R&D programs.
